Overall I here's glad I upgraded, as the new Core i5-430UM is mostly a big speed boost within the Core 2 Duo SU9400. Pros for the 1830t: Weighs only 3. 1lbs. Core i5 processor is very fast. Fans are quieter compared to on my 3810t, but at full speed seem to be louder. Fun to keep an eye on Turbo Boost do it's thing. Runs very cold, except for the remaining side which gets just a little warm but never popular. Cons: Keyboad has more flex than the 3810t's. I got any Alps touchpad, wish I had gotten one with Synaptics. Touchpad is not recessed, looks pretty but I do not like this and is hard to make use of in low lighting. No multimedia keys like on the 3810t. Wish I previously had an Intel Wireless greeting card, might change out all the Broadcom. <! --INFOLINKS_OFF-->.
